The annual picnic for the Cash Senior Citizens was held July 3 at the Cash Park pavilion, with 23 in attendance.
Mrs. Helen Parker was awarded the door prize. The birthday of Mrs. Tilda Peeler was celebrated.
Entertainment was presented by Mrs. Freda Rhodes.
Members of Laureate Iota Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Yulanda Bailey, 1015 Fairway Circle.
Mrs. Diana Dawson, president, made announcements, and reports were given by committee chairmen. Service committee co-chairman, Mrs. Colene Pugh, reported that the August service project will be working for the Foundation of Arts on Aug. 7-8.
Mrs. Peggy Wood presented the program, "A Little Bird Told Me," taken from the Arkansas Department of History, ArkFamily.net.
The weekly session of the Jonesboro Duplicate Bridge Club was held Monday evening at the Harlin Henry Senior Citizens Center.
Winners of north-south were: first, Russ Jones and Gerald Ferrell; second, Mrs. Peggy Ross and Don Van Buskirk; and third, Mrs. Alice McCullar and Mrs. Sally Papich.
Winners of east-west were: first, Mrs. Patti Riffel and Mrs. Joan Farley; second, Bill Clark and Elaine Hallum; and third, Mrs. Jane Cherry and Mrs. Anne Sharp.
Church
Members of the Jonesboro District Women's Missionary Auxiliary met July 8 at Shady Grove Baptist in Piggott.
Reports were given. Ten churches were represented with 53 in attendance.
Miss Darlene Carey, a missionary to the Philippines, was the guest speaker.
