Marine Corps party planned for Oct. 25

PARAGOULD — Calling all Marines.

A Marine Corps birthday celebration is being planned for Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. in Atkins Celebration Hall at Paragould, Norris Norman said.

The celebration will feature a program, catered dinner and a display of Marine Corps memorabilia brought by guests, Norman said. The charge for the event is $20 per person, which covers the dinner. Deadline for registration is noon on Wednesday. Latecomers are welcome and can pay at the door, but no guarantee of food is made for those who attend without pre-registering, he said.

Dress is casual, and a door prize will be given to those who can fit into their old uniforms. People are urged to bring old photographs and any artifacts that they have. All display items will be labeled for identification.

Other features of the evening will include a time of socializing, introduction of all Marines present, signing of the Marine Corps Hymnal, a summary of Marine Corps history and an audio presentation of the commandant’s message.
