WEINER — Riverside escaped Weiner with a 50-43 overtime win in senior girls’ basketball on Thursday. Riverside led 29-25 at the end of the third quarter, but Weiner rallied to tie the score a 41 at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime. For Riverside (2-1), Morgan Emery led the team with 15 points, while Brianna Driver added 10. Katey Campbell pulled down 10 rebounds. For Weiner, Madison Craft scored 16 points and Maleigh Harris added 12. Weiner won the junior high game 44-42.
MARMADUKE 65, Bay 55
BAY — MARMADUKE defeated Bay 65-55 in senior girls’ basketball on Thursday night. For MARMADUKE, Chelsea Drope scored 24 points, while Rachel Morton added 17. For Bay (1-2), Jordan Ferguson scored 24 points. MARMADUKE won the junior high game 45-36. Courtney Simmons led Bay in the losing effort with 12 points.
Maynard 58, S-Hendrix 50
MAYNARD — Sarah Blackwell recorded her first double-double of the season to help Maynard defeat Sloan-Hendrix 58-50 in senior girls’ basketball on Thursday. Blackwell finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Tigers, while Laura Bergman and Brooke Avery each added 10 points. Hannah Rowsey paced Sloan-Hendrix with 18 points and Kristen Belcher had 14.
Maynard 82, S-Hendrix 71
MAYNARD — Derek Murdock scored 27 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to power Maynard over Sloan-Hendrix 82-71 in senior boys’ basketball on Thursday. Derek Waddell added 18 points for Maynard, while Blake Davis had 16. Tyler Gillean paced Sloan-Hendrix with 17 points and Zach Ogden added 16. Chase Dejournett scored 14 and Chad Orrick had 11. Sloan-Hendrix won the junior high game 53-35.
