Basketball roundup

BROOKLAND — Rachel Morton scored 26 points Monday night to power MARMADUKE to an 80-47 victory over Brookland in senior girls’ basketball.
Chelsea Drope added 16 points and Morgan Hatcher chipped in with 14 for the Lady Greyhounds (3-1). MARMADUKE pulled away after leading 44-31 at halftime.
Ajax Simpson led Brookland (0-1) with 13 points.
MARMADUKE won the junior girls’ game 35-21.

BIC-Armorel

MONETTE — Buffalo Island Central used 26 points from Jenna Pike to roll to a 67-54 victory over Armorel in girls’ basketball Monday night.
Jordon Miller added 21 points for the Lady Mustangs (2-2), while Katelyn Brown picked up 21 points for Armorel.
Jennifer Allen and Melanique Middlebrook each garnered 10 points for the Lady Tigers.
In the junior high contest, Buffalo Island moved to 6-0 overall on the strength of a 40-27 victory. Brittany Fowler led BIC with 16, while Demi Hargrove added 13 points and eight steals.

Ridgefield-Sloan-Hendrix

JONESBORO — Sloan-Hendrix took a pair of junior high contests against Ridgefield Christian on Monday night.
The game of the night was the junior girls’ contest — Sloan-Hendrix won 38-37 in overtime. The boys’ game ended 34-27 in favor of the Greyhounds.
In the girls’ contest, Briana Smith scored 17 points for Ridgefield and Gennifer Simpson led Sloan with 10 points.
Sloan-Hendrix’s Steven Ward led all boys’ scorers with 12 points, while Jacob Reeves put in 11 points for Ridgefield (1-2).
The Warriors won the seventh-grade game 49-17.
