TURRELL — Morgan Barnes and Chelsey Jones combined for 61 points to lead Bay to an 82-72 overtime victory over Turrell in senior girls’ basketball on Tuesday. Barnes scored 34 points and pulled down seven rebounds, while Jones had 27 points and 10 boards. Bay (2-2) outscored Turrell 16-6 in overtime after regulation ended in a 66-66 tie.
Weiner 57, Black Rock 48
WEINER — Weiner jumped to a 16-4 lead after a quarter and beat Black Rock 57-48 in senior girls’ basketball on Tuesday. McKenzie scored 16 points and Kenzie Bartholomew added 13 to lead Weiner (1-3, 1-0 1A-3 East). Black Rock’s Amy Galbreath scored a game-high 21 points, making 14 of her 17 free throws. Ashley Stallings added 13 points. Weiner won the junior girls’ game 42-11.
Ridgefield 53, Riverside 50
JONESBORO — Ridgefield Christian rebounded from an early deficit and edged Riverside 53-50 in senior boys’ basketball on Tuesday. Riverside (1-3) opened a 23-7 lead after a quarter, but the Warriors pulled within 32-27 by halftime and took a 43-41 advantage into the final period. Matt Pierce scored a game-high 16 points for Ridgefield (3-0), while Adam Thrasher added 10 points. Josh Anderson and Tyler Warhurst each scored 10 to lead Riverside. Riverside won the junior boys’ game 53-10, while Ridgefield won the seventh-grade game 51-44.
Armorel 59, MARMADUKE 46
ARMOREL — Hunter Kortan scored 29 points to lead Armorel to a 59-46 win over MARMADUKE in senior boys’ basketball on Tuesday. Kortan also had nine rebounds and four steals, while Kyle Cassidy added 22 points, seven rebounds, four steals and five assists for Armorel (2-1). Colton Hale scored 17 to pace MARMADUKE, which led 16-14 after a quarter before falling behind 30-23 at halftime. MARMADUKE won the junior boys’ game 34-26.
Bay 54, Turrell 51
TURRELL — Bay rallied from a 22-16 halftime deficit to beat Turrell 54-51 in senior boys’ basketball on Tuesday. Troy Brown scored 15 points, Aaron Ballew had 12 points and eight rebounds, and Eric Bowers contributed 11 points for Bay. Theo Turner scored 23 points to lead Turrell. Bay also won the junior boys’ game 50-48.
Brookland 74, Tuckerman 66
TUCKERMAN — Adrian Boling and Trey Harlan combined for 48 points to lead Brookland past Tuckerman 74-66 in senior boys’ basketball on Tuesday. Boling had 26 points and nine rebounds, while Harlan scored 22 points for the Bearcats (1-1, 1-0 3A-3). Justy Moore contributed 12 points, seven boards and seven steals, with Cody Edgar adding 12 points and five assists. Cody Meade scored 21 points, Jake Hitt had 17 and Justin Watkins added 11 for Tuckerman. Tuckerman won the junior boys’ game 64-41.
Black Rock 71, Weiner 47
WEINER — Joe Paul Carey pumped in 27 points to power Black Rock to a 71-47 victory over Weiner in senior boys’ basketball on Tuesday. Carey also grabbed eight rebounds, while Les Foster added 16 points and Tadd Fore scored 12 for the Zebras (2-2, 1-0 1A-3 East). Tyler Roby also pulled down 10 boards. Chris Turner scored 16 points and Jacob Brumley added 11 Weiner (1-4, 0-1).
Mammoth Spring 69, Hillcrest 52
MAMMOTH SPRING — Trevor Vincent scored 27 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to power Mammoth Spring to a 69-52 win over Hillcrest in senior boys’ basketball on Tuesday. Seth Godwin added 16 points and seven rebounds, while Caleb Brown had 10 points and Wes Davis grabbed 10 boards for Mammoth Spring (4-1, 1-0). Jordan Hunter scored 19 and Dylan Wooten added 14 for Hillcrest.
