Bonnie Clark
LUXORA — Bonnie Jean Clark, 63, of Luxora died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009.
She was born Dec. 6, 1945, to Raymond Williams and the late Gladys Caradine.
Survivors include her husband, Ben Clark Jr. of Luxora; children, Alma Kern and Marcus Clark, both of Luxora; siblings, Erma Nolan of Sacramento, Ill., Nathaniel Nolan of Blytheville, Lverine Wright and Ben Nolan, both of Cahokia, Ill.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday afternoon at 3 in Zion Chapel at Luxora with burial in Whiteside Cemetery at Osceola.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 at Wilson’s Osceola Funeral Home.
Billy Fowler
ASH FLAT — Billy J. Fowler, 45, of Ash Flat died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Batesville.
He was born Feb. 28, 1964, at Taft, Calif., to Billy and Wanda Bramlette Fowler.
Survivors include his parents; son, Aaron Joseph Fowler of Ash Flat; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Donavan and Amelia Fowler, James and Jennifer Fowler, all of Cave City, and Julie Fowler of Alaska; and many other relatives.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Hilltop Calvary Church at Ash Flat with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery directed by Tri-County Highland Funeral Home.
Elsie Faye Holt
HARRISBURG — On Feb. 10, 1934, two beautiful twin girls were born to R.G. and Cordelia Collins at Tyronza. Elsie Faye and Winnie Mae Collins were their given names. Faye met her one and only love, Paul Vernon Holt, at the Weona Junction Pentecostal Church in Weona. They were wed Sept. 29, 1951, at Marked Tree by Justice of the Peace E.M. Perry.
To this union five children were born — Rog, San, Snook, Beck and Boo.
Faye loved to cook and could always be counted on at church potlucks and family gatherings. She was an avid Razorback fan and lived for her church.
Faye departed this life on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at 7:50 p.m. at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, R.G. and Cordelia Collins; her twin sister, Winnie Mae Collins; one son, Roger Paul Holt; brothers, Doyle, Robert, Donald and Hershel Collins; her sister, Clara Fuller; and a special niece, Rhonda Simmons King.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Vernon Holt of the home; son, Donald Holt and his wife Cathy of Harrisburg; three daughters, Kim Johnson and her husband Larry of Harrisburg, Becky McQuay and her husband Leroy, and Sandra Armstrong-Rabe and her husband Ken, all of Jonesboro; daughter-in-law, Janet Holt Collins of Harrisburg; a special “son” she helped raise, Ricky Collins of Harrisburg; one brother, James Collins of Marked Tree; two sisters, Sarah Simmons of Marked Tree and Geneva Smith of Pocahontas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who all fondly called her “Maw Maw” and “Maw Maw Great.”
She is also survived by her Christian family at Holly Springs Jesus Name Pentecostal Church where Maw Maw worshipped God in spirit and truth for many years.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg with Harles Banks, David Moore and Matt Banks officiating.
Friends may visit at the funeral home tonight from 6-8.
Active pallbearers will be Douglas Cravens, Michael Thatcher, Daniel Bergeron, Jerome Simmons, Larry Bradley and Roger Drum.

Viola Connie Jones
MANILA — Viola “Connie” Jones, 66, of Manila died Friday in Jonesboro.
Mrs. Jones was born at the Lost Cane community near Manila and was the daughter of the late Eber and Velma Sisson Robinson. She had been a lifelong Manila area resident and was a member of Fairview Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Edge.
Survivors include her husband, Odell Jones of Manila; one son, Lee Jones of Manila; three brothers, Donald Robinson of Leachville, Sid Robinson and Raymond Robinson, both of Manila; four sisters, Clara Duncan and Linda Robinson, both of Leachville, Catherine Collins of Mountian View and Flossie Jewell of Blytheville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with the Rev. Carl Edge officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery.

Harley McGarity
HORNERSVILLE, Mo. — Harley McGarity, of Hornersville, Mo., son of the late Dossie McGarity and Edith Copeland McGarity, was born Feb. 14, 1936, at Adamsville, Tenn., and departed this life in Hornersville on Oct. 30, 2009, at the age of 73.
Harley married Reba Westerfield on April 11, 1957 in Kennett, Mo.
Survivors include his wife, Reba McGarity of Hornersville, Mo.; four sons, Ricky McGarity of Jonesboro, Timothy McGarity of Rives, Mo., Michael McGarity of Vancouver, Wash., and Jerry McGarity of Tucson, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Harley was preceded in death by a brother, E.D. McGarity; and four sisters, Louise Gilliam, Aileen Hensley, Mamie McKensie and Jane Brown.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. today at McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett, until graveside services at 2:30 p.m. in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett, with the Rev. Jimmy Skaggs officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Ricky, Timothy, Michael and Jerry McGarity.
Honorary pallbearers will include Matthew and Justin McGarity.
Georgia Melton
PIGGOTT — Georgia Melton, 62, of Piggott passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at her home.
She is survived by her husband, Homer Melton of Piggott; father, Lloyd Clifton of Auburndale, Fla.; three stepdaughters, Lesa Beck of Nimmons, Vonda Sample of Kennett, Mo., and Michelle Bradshaw of Piggott.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home Chapel at Piggott. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery at Pollard.
Visitation will begin at 6 tonight.
Mary Blackwell Minton
CLINTON, N.C. — Mary Blackwell Minton, 91, of Clinton, N.C., passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009.
Survivors include her son, Raymond Minton of Walnut Ridge; daughter, Joyce Woods of Clinton; three grandchildren, Greg Minton of Walnut Ridge, Sandy Fletcher of Bono and Andy Woods of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Cleo Massey of Pocahontas and Ester Nipps of Del City, Okla.; many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Lawrence Memorial Park with Don House officiating.

David M. Montgomery
JONESBORO — David Michael Montgomery, 58, of Jonesboro was born Aug. 17, 1951, and died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel Simms Montgomery and Sterlin “S.G.” Montgomery.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Montgomery of the home; son, Brad Montgomery and his wife Rosemarie of West Memphis; daughter, Shayla and her husband Dr. Trent Johnson of Georgetown, Ky.; grandchildren, Dakota and Cheyenne Montgomery of West Memphis; sisters, Nelda Adams (Russell) and Margarett Gatlin (Bill); brothers, Robert (Betty) and Randall Montgomery, all of the Bono area; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lerlene and Bob Treece of Marmaduke.
David attended Bono High School and graduated in 1969 from Westside High School. He received a bachelor of science in education in agriculture and master of science in business agriculture from Arkansas State University.
He taught agriculture at Swifton High School and Leachville High School. He later worked for E.C. Barton Lumber Co. in Paragould and managed Barton’s Lumber in Lepanto for many years before moving back to Jonesboro to work for Barton’s.
David was a past member of the Leachville Jaycees and charter member of the Lepanto Lions Club. He was an active member of Valley View Church of Christ. He loved fishing, hiking and taking cruises. He especially enjoyed the annual Barton’s fishing trip to Gastons.
He enjoyed taking his nephew, Robbie Montgomery, fishing, driving his brother’s tractor and playing with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Roller-Farmers Union Chapel in Jonesboro with David Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
Acitve pallbearers will include David Herriman, Kevin Truelove, Ronnie Pierce, Mitchell Smith, David Ozier, Dennis Hill, Mike Hudgens and John Tant.
Honorary pallbearers will include Robbie Montgomery and Gary Masters.

Wayne Phillips
CONCORD — Wayne Bryan Phillips, 74, of Concord passed away on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at St. Bernards Medical Center.
He was born at Weiner on May 1, 1935, to the late Aubrey “Dutch” Norman and Goldia Johnson Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a retired farmer, member of Weiner Baptist Church, loved to fish and hunt, and proudly served in the U.S. Army.
He leaves behind a brother, Raymond Phillips, and sister, Lou Jean Manajlovich.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Phillips; a brother, Tommy Phillips; and two sisters, Della Craft and June Adams.
Graveside funeral services and burial will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Walker Cemetery near Weiner with Mitch Ford officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

She was a homemaker and member of Christ United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Pillow; parents, Herschel and Ollie Hopper Keelor; sons, Lester and Ralph Pillow; grandson, Jeremy Pillow; sisters, Alberta, Lucille and Laura Lee; and brothers, Tom and Ben Keelor.

Arthur Derrell Simpson
JONESBORO — Arthur Derrell Simpson, 65, of Jonesboro died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Little Rock.
He was born Aug. 2, 1944, at Manila. Arthur served his country in the Army and was a Vietnam combat veteran.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Rosemary Caluza; father, Arthur Simpson; brothers, Ron and Gary Simpson; and infant son, Baby-boy Simpson.
He is survived by four sons, Derrell Simpson and his wife Rhonda of Bay, Christopher Simpson of Truman, Tommy Simpson and his wife Karen of Harrisburg, and Joey Simpson and his wife Christine of Jonesboro; two sisters, Jean Curtiss of Judsonia and Kathy Mendoza of Jonesboro; his children’s mother, Belva Murray of Trumann; eight grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

WALNUT RIDGE — Delmas R. Smith, 71, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab.
Delmas was born July 30, 1938, in Woodruff County to Tommy and Ruby Skinner Smith.
Survivors include sons, Keith (Tiffany) Smith and Kevin Smith, all of Indiana; brother, Eddie (Paula) Smith of Pocahontas; sister, Kitty Meredith of McCrory; nieces and nephews.

Fern Woodard
IMBODEN — Fern Woodard, 75, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, in her home with her family around her.
She was born Jan. 29, 1934, to the late Melvin and Lulu Eversol.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor Estes Woodard; three brothers, Buddy, Leroy and Troy Eversol; and grandson, Christopher Lewis.
She is survived by two daughters, Peggy High and husband Jerry of Imboden, and Bonnie Lewis and husband Randy of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Patricia Bunyard and husband Mike of Citrus Heights, Calif., Tonya Simington and husband Joe of Imboden, and Melissa Lewis of Portland, Ore.; great-grandchildren, Amber and Morgan Bunyard of Citrus Heights, and Rebecca and Heather Simington of Imboden; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens with Arvil Tribble officiating.
