JONESBORO — The 27th annual Distinguished Performance Awards at Arkansas State University were presented to six individual staff members and a special committee.
The annual campus recognition ceremony for non-faculty employees was held in a virtual format due to the ongoing pandemic.
The Team Player award went to Carnesha Ben in the Counseling Center. Jeannie Cossey in Academic Affairs and Research received the Unsung Hero award. Lauren DeFazio in Mathematics and Statistics was named Rookie of the Year.
The Enhancing the Student Experience award was presented to Kelli Listenbee in Learning Support Services. Kathryn Pulliam with Human Resources received the STAR (Service, Teamwork, Attitude, Reliability) award, and Kyle Walker in Learning Commons was the Outstanding Part-Timer.
The Emergency Operations Committee: Jon Carvell, Kelly Damphousse, Len Frey, Bill Smith, Martha Spack, Alan Utter, Sara Walker and Lori Winn was recognized for Team Achievement.
Thirteen retirees were also recognized. They were Dr. Jenifer Rice Mason, 43 years; Carol Barnhill, 42 years; Bobby P. Warren, 40 years; Justin Holder, 35 years; Paula Miles, 31 years; Margaret Watson, 30 years; Vicki Fletcher, 23 years; Genella McCarroll 18 years; Nanya French 16 years; Pam Mangrum, 15 years; David J. Lovelace, 14 years; Vaneta Williams Harvey, 13 years; and Eddie Hill, 10 years.
Twenty-five individuals achieved employment milestones including Dr. Rick Stripling, College of Education and Behavioral Science for 40 years of service.
Those with 30 years of service were Martin D. Bryant, Skilled Trades; Shannan Clouse, Information and Technology Services; Laura Cremeens, Enrollment Management; Tracey McMasters, Information and Technology Services; Christie Ollis, Ellis Library; Mark A. Smith, KASU; Tim D. Smith, Institutional Services; and Margaret Watson, Information and Technology Services.
Those serving 20 years were Floyd Cozart, Printing Services; Timothy Cureton, Information and Technology Services; Angela J. Daniels, Admissions; Timmy Davis, Facilities – Landscaping; Len T. Frey, Finance and Administration; Myra Goodwin, Controller; Phil Hestand, Counseling Center; Heath Kelly, Publications and Creative Services; Mary Lou Adams Ray, Printing Services; Terrie Rolland, Liberal Arts and Communication; and Haley T. Stout, First National Bank Arena.
Recognized for 10 years of service were Robert D. Bahn, Small Business and Technology Development Center; Jeannie Cossey, Academic Affairs and Research; Darlene Etter, Education and Behavioral Science; Pam Graham, College of Education & Behavioral Science; and Laveta Wills-Hale, Childhood Services.
