LITTLE ROCK — The Mosaic Templars Cultural Center and Arkansas Arts Council are seeking original poetry by Arkansas poets of all backgrounds who are willing to recite on stage. All poetry should be related to Black history.

Winning poems will be performed during a special livestream spoken-word showcase, called “Figuratively Speaking,” to air at 7 p.m. Feb. 26 on Facebook Live.

Works can be submitted until 5 p.m. Friday by visiting Mosaic Templars Cultural Center. 501 W. Ninth St. in Little Rock or emailing Community Liaison Brian Rodgers at Brian.Rodgers@arkansas.gov. Video submissions may be made via DropBox, GoogleDrive or YouTube.

Entries should include the poet’s name, a paragraph about the artist and contact information, including phone number and email address.
