JONESBORO — As COVID-19 cases have risen across the U.S., so has the need for convalescent plasma – leading to a shortage of this potentially lifesaving blood product.

To help address this shortage, the American Red Cross is teaming up with the NFL to urge people, especially those who have recovered from COVID-19, to give blood now.

All who come to donate blood or platelets this January will automatically be entered to win a getaway to next year’s Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles. Those who come in between Jan. 1-20, will also be entered to win a Big Game at Home package, which includes a 65-inch television and a $500 gift card.

Donations can be made daily at the Jonesboro Blood Donation Center, 1904-A Grant St. Individuals can schedule an appointment to give blood by visiting www.redcross blood.org.
