JONESBORO — Like many businesses, the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library, 315 W. Oak Ave., had shifted its hours of operation in reaction to the safety precautions demanded by the pandemic.

The library has now returned to normal business hours effective May 2, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays and 1-5 p.m. Sundays.

“We are returning to normal hours to better serve our patrons. During the pandemic, we slowly expanded our hours since reopening, to ensure the safety of our staff and patrons,” CCJPL Assistant Director Tonya Ryals said. “At this point, we have taken additional precautions in our building, such as adding Plexiglas and placing spacing stickers on the floor.

“Given those precautions, the fact that our staff has finally had the opportunity to become vaccinated, and the lower case counts, we felt it was the right time to return to normal hours.”

Staff will continue to wear masks and some of the library’s rooms will still be closed to the public. Glass study rooms are available by appointment.

Self-check-out machines will also be available. For more information, visit www.libraryinjonesboro.org, www.facebook.com/ccjpl, or call 870-935-5133.
