JONESBORO — The Northeast Arkansas Humane Society’s annual Holiday Pet Photo fundraiser is scheduled for one day only, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 21. This is only one of many changes made to address the ongoing pandemic.
Joey Glaub will again host the event at his studio, 677 Arkansas 91 (Dan Avenue), but this year will be for pets only and appointments will be required. To schedule a time, call the studio at 870-930-9309.
Sessions will be conducted similarly to most veterinary practices today. Pet owners will call into the studio when they arrive. A volunteer will meet them at the front door and take the pet to be photographed. Pets can be photographed alone or with Santa.
Glaub said that most people have been understanding about the need for change this season and are just disappointed that the kids or family can’t be included. “For many, it’s become a family tradition to photograph family and or kids each year,” he said.
The organization has set a minimum of 20 appointments by Nov. 16 for the event to happen. If the minimum is not met, those who have made one will be notified that the event has been canceled. The maximum for the day is 42. An additional date may be added if needed.
To further limit social contact, images will be offered in digital format only. For $35, pet owners can choose one image from online proofs and a copyright-released file will be emailed to them to be used however they choose. Those who want prints or Christmas cards can order them online from Glaub’s website.
Only credit or debit cards or checks made out to NEAHS will be accepted at the event, no cash.
