PIGGOTT — The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center will host a reading retreat Sept. 24-25, focusing on Ernest Hemingway’s works and life.
The retreat, “Hemingway in Piggott,” will include dinner and screening of Ken Burns and Lynn Novick’s PBS documentary about the author.
Registration is $100 by Sept. 1 and $125 for late registration. Fees may be refunded until Sept. 13. A limited number of spots are available.
The books to be read and discussed are “Unbelievable Happiness and Final Sorrow” by Dr. Ruth Hawkins, former executive director of Arkansas State University Heritage Sites, and “The Hemingway Women” by Bernice Kert.
In addition, “The Complete Short Stories of Ernest Hemingway,” featuring forwards by John, Patrick, and Gregory Hemingway, and edited by Charles Scribner Jr. will be discussed.
