POCAHONTAS — Steve Shults, director of the Law Enforcement Training at Black River Technical College, was selected in December to serve on Gov. Asa Hutchinson’s Law Enforcement Task Force. Fred Weatherspoon, deputy director of the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy served as chairman.
The governor created the 24-member task force to ensure that law-enforcement agencies are provided the equipment, guidance, training, support and compensation that will allow them to perform their jobs at the highest level.
Members of the task force surveyed a broad base of residents and produced a report that included 27 recommendations.
