LITTLE ROCK — a number of area youth were recognized during the Junior Livestock Show held in conjunction with the 2020 Arkansas State Fair.

Winners in the market hogs divisions were announced following competition at the 2020 Junior Livestock Show of the Arkansas State Fair.

Lake City winners included Scout Lyerly for Grand Champion AOB Market Hog; Jett Cobb, for both Reserve Champion and Grand Champion Chester Market Hog; and Jaxson Cobb for Grand Champion Duroc Market Hog.

Paragould winners were Ellisa Vaughn for Grand Champion Cross Market Hog; Jessie Rawls for Grand Champion Yorkshire Market Hog; and Kayla Cossey for Reserve Champion Yorkshire Market Hog.

During the annual Sale of Champions livestock auction held as part of the show of the Arkansas State Fair.

In the beef sale, Kix Lee of Imboden sold the Bronze Medallion Market Steer for $6,000.

Jackson Rogers of Paragould had both the Grand Champion Meat Pen and Grand Champion Single Fryer in the Rabbit Sale. The purchase price was $1,700 each.

In the swine sale, Ellisa Vaughn of Paragould had the Grand Champion Market Hog, selling for $5,500.

Two Paragould residents were recognized in the poultry sale, they were Cason Murray with the Grand Champion Broiler purchased at $2,300 and Jasa Reed with the Reserve Champion Broiler selling for $1,900.

Parker Lentz of Marmaduke had the 5th Overall Market Goat, purchased for $1,400 and Andy Agee, also of Marmaduke, had the 6th Overall Market Goat purchased for $1,200

The sale raises funds for agriculture youth scholarships.
