The 20th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day was held on Saturday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Newport’s iCareRx Pharmacy set up as one of thousands of collection sites across the United States. The sites accepted unneeded prescription drugs, including controlled substances and over-the-counter drugs for safe, environmentally friendly, and legal disposal.
Arkansas ranked second nationally in pounds collected per person and is in the top 15 states in the total amount of medications collected. Arkansas collected 38,960 pounds of medication at the most recent Take Back event, contributing to the largest amount ever collected nationally.
If you have any unused or unwanted medications that you would like to dispose of, then please contact iCareRx Pharmacy at 1117 McClain St. Suite #400 in Newport for information.
