A two-car crash in Craighead County on Monday claimed the life of a Jonesboro man.

Garai B. McCree, 33, of Jonesboro, died when the 2009 Toyota Camri he was driving westbound on Nettleton Avenue, failed to stop at a red light and was struck by a 2016 Nissan Maxima that was eastbound on Nettleton and was making a left-hand turn onto Red Wolf Boulevard, according to Arkansas State Police.

The Camri then hit a traffic signal pole.

Weather conditions were clear and road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.

A crash involving multiple vehicles on April 13 claimed the life of a Bald Knob man in White County.

At 5:51 p.m. a crash involving five vehicles on U.S. Highway 67 in Searcy resulted in the death of Cody Williams, 34.

Also injured was Rusty Robertson, 27, of Kensett, who was driving a 2011 Toyota Corolla in which Williams was a passenger. Robertson was transported to Unity Health according to the Arkansas State Police.

Traffic was congested because of a prior crash when a vehicle failed to stop, hitting the rear of a vehicle that set off a chain reaction of front to rear collisions.
