The Arkansas Department of Health reported 1,510 new COVID-19 cases in the state on Tuesday.

Another 44 deaths due to COVID-19 also were reported as the number of hospitalizations statewide because of the virus continued to drop.

Statewide there have been 298,004 COVID-19 cumulative cases – both confirmed and probable – and 276,704 recovered cases.

Statewide deaths since the pandemic began nearly a year ago have totaled 4,939.

In Jackson County the Arkansas Department of Health reports that there have bee 3,088 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases and 2,992 recovered cases. There are currently 64 active cases in Jackson County, and there have been 21 confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 and 11 probable.

The Arkansas Department of Health also reported on Tuesday that 318,408 of the 535,900 doses of the coronavirus vaccine that the state has received have been given.
