A crash in Jackson County on Nov. 20 claimed the lives of two women.

Ashley Steele, 20, of Bradford, was the driver, and Leslie Lewis, 28, of Newport was a passenger in a 2019 Land Rover traveling south on State Highway 367 at Jackson County Road 307 at Possum Grape, according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.

A 2016 Mack truck was backing west across the highway into a private driveway to park when the Land Rover struck the truck, the report states.

Weather conditions were clear and road conditions were dry at the time of the crash according to the report.
