This Easter season the Rotary Club can help you egg your friends without the mess.

The Rotary Club of Newport is hosting “Egg your Friends,” a fun activity where you can surprise your friends, neighbors, or favorite business with large colorful egg yard signs.

For $15, members of the Rotary Club of Newport will place one large decorated egg yard sign into the yard of your choice. For $50, you can get four eggs. Eggs will be placed a week and a half before Easter, and picked up the week after. Cards will be left for those who get “egged,” with a message telling who left the surprise. Eggs will be placed in yards the week of March 22, and picked up the week of April 5.

Purchase your egg(s) at the Newport Chamber of Commerce Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Fridays from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Deadline is March 10. Houses or businesses must be located within the city limits of Newport and Diaz.

Founded in 1933, the Rotary Club of Newport consists of a group of people united to make a difference in Newport and surrounding areas each year. In 2020, The Rotary Club of Newport provided more than $7,000 in scholarships, supported many local causes, provided books to preschool students at Newport Schools, and more. Rotary meets each Friday at Penny’s Place from Noon-1 p.m.
