Tuckerman High School students got the opportunity to tour the Be Pro Be Proud Technical Careers Truck recently.

Students in grades 8-12 were able to learn hands-on about jobs in welding, railroads, construction, manufacturing, and other technical occupations.

Be Pro Be Proud travels across the state of Arkansas, with branches being established throughout the United States. Michael Smith, Career Coach at Jackson County School District, worked to bring the truck on campus, along with proper COVID-19 protocols in place.

“Getting the Be Pro Be Proud truck on our campus gave me an excellent opportunity to encourage my students that not all jobs require a four year degree,” Smith said. “There are high-paying jobs in technical industries, that with just a short amount of training, can set you up with a very rewarding career.”
