Unity Health, in partnership with the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care (AFMC), I’m Making A Difference (IMAD), and the Arkansas Minority Health Commission (AMHC), will host a COVID-19 vaccination event for people age 65 and older on Saturday.

The Pfizer vaccine will be administered from 8 a.m.-noon at the IMAD Village Community Center located at 947 Hout Circle in Newport.

Those who receive the vaccine on Saturday must return for the second dose on April 3.

Anyone not feeling well on the day of the vaccination, or those who have received in vaccination within 14 days of the event, will be ineligible.

The most common side effects of receiving the vaccine are possible injection site pain, headache, or muscle aches, but those symptoms generally last less than three days and can be treated with Tylenol or ibuprofen, according to information shared by Unity Health-Harris Medical Center in Newport.
