JONESBORO — Craighead County had 84 confirmed new coronavirus cases and 23 probable cases in Thursday’s report from the Arkansas Department of Health.

Statewide, there were 2,277 confirmed by PCR lab testing and 1,046 probable infections found through the less-accurate antigen testing, for a total of 3,323. The new cases were found based on the results of more than 15,000 tests.

There were 25 deaths reported Thursday, including one in Mississippi County, bringing the statewide death toll to 3,926.

The number of people in hospitals statewide increased by five to 1,326, including 427 who were in intensive care units and 218 on ventilators. In Northeast Arkansas, 205 were hospitalized, down four from Wednesday, 43 in ICUs, down one, and 21 on ventilators, a reduction of three.

The health department reported that the top counties for new cases are Pulaski, 453; Benton, 350; Washington, 289; Faulkner, 137; and Garland, 133.

Lawrence – 1,388 confirmed (up 10), 295 probable (up 6); 134 active (unchanged); 33 confirmed deaths, 3 probable.

Poinsett – 2,286 confirmed (up 32), 271 probable (up 7); 220 active (up 12); 51 confirmed deaths, 13 probable.

Mississippi – 4,166 confirmed (up 32), 449 probable (up 1); 274 active cases (down 8); 83 confirmed deaths, 15 probable.

Jackson – 2,314 confirmed (up 8), 5687 probable (up 27); 117 active cases (up 28); 18 confirmed deaths, 6 probable.

Randolph – 1,241 confirmed (up 7), 337 probable (unchanged); 161 active cases (down 8); 32 confirmed deaths, 11 probable.
