JONESBORO — The Jonesboro School Board will meet at 6 p.m. today to discuss this year’s JFAST negotiations.

Garrett Barnes, president of JFAST, said one of this year’s requests was a 5 percent increase in base salary for certified personal.

JPS administration agreed to a 1 percent increase in base salary for all certified personal.

“On raises, we know the percentage we request is not feasible; we know that 5 percent is hard to afford,” Barnes said.

The board will consider approval of the negotiated terms on Tuesday as well as the following agenda items:

Action items:

Custodial service contract.

Banking services.

Purchase core phonics curriculum for grades K-3.

Purchase Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts.

Purchase Wit and Wisdom for additional teachers and students.

Purchase Core 7-12 literacy materials.

Purchase Imagine Learning.

Purchase Savvas algebra 1, geometry, algebra, and algebra 2 digital math curriculum.

Purchase Savvas enVision mathematics Common Core.

Recommend compensation per Act 933 for second semester.

General consent:

Legal transfers.

Choice of students.

Property insurance.

Salary schedules.

Mental health contracts.

Student handbook revisions.
