JONESBORO — Craighead County justices of the peace will hear the third and final reading of an ordinance setting forth professional services to include technological needs and service-related agreements during Monday night’s meeting.
Justices will consider approving an ordinance that will allow the county to hire for certain jobs instead of having to bid them out.
“It will give us the authority to hire not the lowest bidder, but the most qualified candidate,” said Craighead County Judge Marvin Day.
Day said state law allowed the county to add certain categories to the ordinance such as computer services, information technology services, desktop management, security and firewall and backup solutions, and business technological needs.
Craighead County JPs will also be considering the following agenda items:
Legislative audit report.
An ordinance amending the budget to add Rural Community Grant Funds 3548 and 3591.
An ordinance to amend the budget to add the remaining 2019 COVID-19 Response grant.
A resolution appointing Mike Mahan to the Cash Fire Protection District.
2020 Prosecuting Attorney’s Hot Check Report.
The quorum court will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Craighead County Training Room at 511 Union in Jonesboro.
