JONESBORO — Jonesboro School District board members will meet tonight to discuss two major action items on the agenda.
After the JPS interview committee heard from several different contractors, the committee has recommended Tate General Contractors as the construction manager for the Phase 1 project of the remodeling project at MacArthur Junior High School. Board members will be voting whether to approve that recommendation on Tuesday night.
Board members are also expected to consider the approval of two new positions and two new salaries.
MicroSociety Elementary Magnet was awarded a $24,962 grant to establish a food pantry for low-income families whose children attend the elementary.
The grant covers the salaries of a site coordinator and a program director as well as a refrigerator, freezer, storage materials, signage and food boxes.
Word Church will be partnering with the school to help with the program.

Election of the treasurer.
5 percent salary increase for all district employees.
2020 delegate assembly.
Board members will meet at 6 p.m. in the Jonesboro Public School District Administration Building, 2506 Southwest Square.
