JONESBORO — Jonesboro School Board members will meet Tuesday night to decide on a resolution for a mentoring program.
According to the resolution provided in the school board packet, Act 586 of the 88th General Assembly, requires all first-year superintendents in Arkansas to complete a mentoring program. Those mentors are required to be a practicing or retired superintendent.
The resolution includes adding a $1,500 stipend to all first-year superintendents, which will be provided by the Arkansas Association of Education Administrators.
Board members are also expect to consider:
■ A resolution authorizing the issuance and delivery of Series 2020 refunding bonds.
■ The sale of a Kent surface grinder.
■ Student transfers.
■ ASBA school unemployment compensation agreement.
■ ASBA business trip accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
The board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the board room of the Jonesboro Public Schools Administration Building, 2506 Southwest Square.
