Suspect held without bond
JONESBORO — A man suspected of marijuana possession is being held without bond.
The Jonesboro Police Department arrested Julius Henry, 24, of Jonesboro, in the 2900 block of Breezewood Drive, according to the incident report. An officer first spotted him failing to signal a left turn onto Breezewood Street, which prompted him to follow him to a residence on Breezewood Drive.
Henry ignored the officers request to “hold on” and continued walking toward the home to knock on the door, it read. The incident report doesn’t detail the encounter much further and a probable cause affidavit was not provided to The Sun on Wednesday for this case.
JPD did note that it seized 17.95 grams or 0.63 ounces of marijuana, a white tray with residue, a digital scale with residue and plastic bags from the scene.
An arrest warrant by Circuit Judge Chris Thyer ordered that Henry be held without bond until his next hearing regarding previous cases because he “failed to appear in Circuit Court on 1-25-21 through 1-29-21,” records show.
District Court Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause Wednesday to charge Henry with felony failure to appear and didn’t override Thyer’s bond. After his arrest, he also is suspected of possession of marijuana with the purpose to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Fowler also found probable cause to charge Thimothy White, 18, of Paragould, with theft by receiving property valued at less than $25,000 but more than $5,000. His bond was set at $50,000, cash or surety.
