Harassment leads to drug arrest

JONESBORO — A man was arrested Wednesday after being accused of “harassing a snowplow driver” and possessing drugs near the intersection of Fair Park Boulevard and Parkwood Drive.

The Jonesboro Police Department received at least three calls in reference to Tyler Cline, 33, of Jonesboro, “doing donuts and following snowplow trucks,” Officer Dalynn Johnson wrote. When he was stopped by police, he refused to get out of his vehicle until a sergeant was on scene.

Among the items seized from Cline were three Alprazolam pills, 2.5 grams of marijuana products and four Buprenorphine pills and various articles of drug paraphernalia. He had a state-issued marijuana card in his possession as well, the incident report indicates.

Cline was booked into the Craighead County Detention Center on suspicion of furnishing prohibited articles into a correctional facility, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a Schedule III drug less than 2 grams, possession of a Schedule IV or V drug less than 28 grams, possession of a Schedule VI drug less than 4 ounces, obstructing governmental operations and failure to register a vehicle.

In another report, a suspect is sought by police for breaking into a man’s car and attacking him in the 1300 block of Links Circle.

The victim, 30, alleged he was hit with a tire iron. Officers observed redness, swelling and bruising on the forearms and hands of the victim and a “knot” along his front hairline.

He was not hospitalized. A white 2007 Honda Accord and red 2011 Ford Fusion were broken into, the report states.

If arrested, the suspect faces charges of breaking or entering a vehicle and third-degree battery.
