robbed at gunpointJONESBORO — A Walnut Ridge man reported that he was robbed at gunpoint Friday morning on Arrowhead Farm Road.

One of three unknown suspects also hit him with a bat, according to the incident report. A witness told police he saw the victim being chased by a white van. The suspects got away with $480 in cash, two pocket knives, a CashApp card, state ID, Social Security card, a photo of the victim’s deceased daughter, cross with his daughter’s ashes inside it and a pair of gray Nike shoes.

In another report, a woman told police Saturday that a man kicked her back door in and threatened to “pistol whip” her in the 700 block of Marshall Street.

Police placed a “Be on the Lookout” alert Saturday on the aggravated residential burglary suspect, 22. The victim was unharmed, the report states.

1 dead, 2 injured in Paragould crash

PARAGOULD – One Greene County resident died and two others were injured Sunday morning near a residence in the 1000 block of Greene 733, Arkansas State Police reported.

Rex Nelson, 50, of Paragould, was driving a 2019 Can-Am side-by-side when the vehicle left the road to the left, hit a tree and overturned, according to a preliminary crash summary. Nelson and his two passengers were ejected from the utility terrain vehicle.

The driver and Cindy Carter, 42, of Paragould, were taken to Arkansas Methodist Medical Center for treatment. Cecil Nelson, 58, of Paragould, was pronounced dead on the scene by Greene County Coroner Dick Pace.

Weather conditions were clear and the road was dry during the accident.

Laranda Ruiz, 29, of Trumann, possession of meth less than 2 grams, possession of Xanax less than 48 grams; bond set at $3,500, cash or surety.

Bernice Sanders, 54, of Jonesboro, second-degree battery causing injury; bond set at $3,000, cash or surety.

Shawnda Walker, 44, of Trumann, felony failure to appear; bond set at $7,500, cash or surety.

Titus Wright, 31, of Jonesboro, possession of drug paraphernalia; bond set at $3,500, cash or surety.
