Police: Stabbing victim hospitalized

JONESBORO — Police announced Monday that a man is in “stable condition” after he was severely stabbed over the weekend.

Witnesses say Belinda Jordan, 39, of Jonesboro, escalated a verbal argument with the man and attacked him with a knife in each hand, according to the probable cause affidavit. Surveillance footage the Jonesboro Police Department obtained showed Jordan stab the victim in the chest with one hand and around his back with the other.

“Belinda then starts stabbing (her male family member) with both hands from the front. (He) then runs out of the front door and collapse at the corner of Turfway and Saddlecrest,” the affidavit read.

He was transported to St. Bernards Medical Center for “multiple lacerations on his chest and also his face,” it states. Jordan was “very intoxicated” when officers detained her.
