Sonic carhop robbed
JONESBORO – A carhop was reportedly the victim of an armed robbery Wednesday night at Sonic, 724 S. Gee St.
The female victim, 18, told police that the suspect pulled a gun on her after she served him his food, according to the incident report.
“He said, ‘Give me everything you got before I start shooting,’” her statement read. “I gave him my apron and he started running.”
Inside the apron was at least $200 in $20 bills, the report indicated. The victim had more money on hand, but the $20s were all she counted before the robbery.
The victim was armed with a semiautomatic pistol with a silver slide. The suspect, 17-37, was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and had face and hand tattoos, the report read.
Child porn suspect arrested
Jonesboro police announced Wednesday that a Bono man was arrested and awaits a probable cause hearing for possessing child pornography.
The Homeland Security Investigations Child Exploitation Investigations Unit received a tip that Earl Chapman, 66, was “possibly sexually assaulting” a child under five years old in Bono, JPD disclosed online.
Child porn was found on one of his electronic devices and he was subsequently arrested, the Facebook post read. His apprehension was part of a joint probe by HSI and the Northeast Arkansas Human Trafficking Task Force.
The department urges the public to report if they have “experienced inappropriate contact from this man” at 870-935-5657.
