Noon hour crash

Traffic was tied up in all four directions for a time as first responders worked to free the driver of this car Monday afternoon. Sally Smith, public information specialist for the Jonesboro Police Department, said a report hadn’t been completed by press time. However, she said a eastbound sport-utility vehicle ran a red light at Johnson Avenue and Bridge Street, colliding with the northbound sedan, which was attempting to make a left turn off Bridge Street onto Johnson. Non life-threatening injuries were reported.
