Osceola man shot in foot

JONESBORO — A man was treated Tuesday after being shot and suffering non-life threatening injuries, according to the Jonesboro Police Department.

Dispatch received at call at about 9:30 p.m. regarding shots fired in the vicinity of West Allen Avenue and Second Street and found the victim, a male from Osceola, with a gunshot injury to his foot, police said.

The Criminal Investigation Division was called in to begin an investigation into the shooting. No arrest was made in the shooting.

However, Cindy Pacheco was arrested on suspicion of drug possession and theft by receiving, police said.

Man accused of sexual assault has bond set

JONESBORO — A Jonesboro man had a $50,000 bond set Wednesday after District Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause to charge Jamie Edward Rouse with second-degree sexual assault and aggravated assault on a family or household member, both felonies.

Rouse is accused of committing a sex act on a girl under the age of 10 and choking the girl’s mother

Drugs seized by task force

JONESBORO — The 2nd Judicial District Drug Task Force seized 12.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine along with evidence of a meth lab on Tuesday, according to Jonesboro police.

During the course of the investigation, agents with DTF made contact with three suspects in reference to suspicious activity. As officers attempted to make contact, a brief struggle ensued while one subject attempted to flee.

Zachary Lawrence, 36, of Jonesboro, Stacy Knight, 37, of Jonesboro, and Elmer Callahan, 45, of Jonesboro, were taken into custody and charged with manufacturing of methamphetamine less than 2 grahams.

Guns found in ditch

JONESBORO — A man mowing his lawn discovered a box in his ditch that contained several firearms, according to the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred in the 800 block of Craighead Road 431.
