JONESBORO — An ordinance setting the rules of procedure for the Craighead County Quorum Court is first item on the new business agenda for Monday night’s meeting.
Justices of the peace will vote to establish how quorum court proceedings will be conducted for 2021.
Craighead County Judge Marvin Day said every two years when a new quorum court is elected, new rules have to be established. “We have to establish them, but we didn’t change a thing this year,” he said.
Other items on the agenda include:
The second reading of a professional services ordinance.
An ordinance to amend the 2021 operating budget and amend the prosecuting attorney’s budget.
The three county committees will also meet to discuss items on their agendas before presenting them to the quorum court.
The transportation committee will meet to discuss plats belonging to Andy Hubbs at CR 762, Christian Reyes at Arkansas 163 S, and Heritage Farms.
The Public Service Committee will meet to discuss a resolution to appoint Mike Mahan to the Cash Fire Protection District.
The Finance and Administration Committee will meet to discuss a tax collection report from Wes Eddington, finance reports from Treasurer Terry McNatt, an ordinance to amend the 2021 operating budget to add funds to the Southridge and Brookland fire departments, and an ordinance to add the COVID-19 Response Grant to 2021 operating fund.
