JONESBORO — Jonesboro police arrested a man Friday who is suspected of a slaying in Turrell.
Terrance Selvy, 31, of Turrell, was arrested at the Willow Creek Apartments in the M.ay 31 shooting death of Andy Jackson, 19, of Turrell. He faces a charge of first-degree murder and causing a terroristic act.
Chief Todd Groons, head of the Criminal Investigation Division at the Crittenden County Sheriff's Office, said Jackson died from a single gunshot wound.
According to television station WMC, shots were first fired at the Turrell One Stop convenience store at around noon May 31, according to the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office,.
Kevion Williams was arrested and charged in this shooting. The sheriff’s office said about an hour later, a second shooting happened at a home on Rogers Street. Investigators said several individuals, including Travis Selvy and Courtney Selvy, began shooting at the home while the homeowner returned fire.
Jackson was shot in the head and died at the scene. Investigators believe the two shootings are connected.
Selvy was taken to the Crittenden County Detention Center. He posted bail and was released on Monday.
