JONESBORO — Westside School Board members have three options to choose from when considering a bus purchase this year.

Superintendent Scott Gauntt said the district will be purchasing at least one new school bus and possibly two.

“We have three different types to choose from,” he said, noting the purchases could cost the district between $123,000 and $180,000 depending what the board decides.

“We could pick an activities bus that has air and storage capacity, we could pick one that’s a route bus or we could pick a 71-passenger bus,” he said.

Gauntt said the district usually purchases buses that have the capacity to hold 77 passengers.

“The priority is a route bus," he said. "We really need to add to our fleet.”

Board members are also expected to consider:

• ASBA Workers Comp invoice approval.

• The 2020-21 Westside District Support Plan.

• ASBA Winter Policy updates, first reading.

• Rate increases for summer/after school care program.

• Certified staff contract renewals.

Board members will meet 6 p.m. Monday in the Westside High School Library, 1630 Hwy 91 West, in Jonesboro.
