JONESBORO — Bob Massanelli, 83, of Jonesboro went to be with his heavenly father on Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, passing away peacefully at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House with his granddaughter, Haven Massanelli, at his side.

Bob was a devout Catholic and member of Blessed Sacrament Church of Jonesboro.

Bob retired from Safeway after 33 years, then went on to Massanelli Dry Cleaners. One of Bob’s greatest loves, aside from his wife, Dorothy, was his 1963 Volkswagen convertible.

He also enjoyed going to the Senior Life Center and having coffee with his friends. Family was everything to Bob and he will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Adele Massanelli, and his sister, Mary Jane Peace.

Bob is survived by his wife, Dorothy Massanelli; his son, Ralph (Sherry) Massanelli; brother, Mike (Helen) Massanelli; grandchildren, Haven Massanelli, Dustin Black of Pennsylvania, Mike Rosten of California; great-grandchildren, Deuce Black, Kayleigh Black, Spencer Black, Cole Rosten and Michael Rosten; and many nieces and nephews.

At the family’s request, all services will be private at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

A family gathering will begin at 10 am. with rosary beginning at 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include his granddaughter, Haven Massanelli, friends, Jerry Tibbs and Harold Miles, nephews, Dean Peace, Shawn Smith and Johnny Wayne Smith.

For lasting memorials, the family requests that consideration be given to Blessed Sacrament Church and Make-A-Wish Foundation of Jonesboro.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

In accordance with Centers for Disease Control guidelines, masks will be required and social distancing will be observed.
