PARAGOULD — Joan C. Flanrey Maddox, 79, of Paragould, passed away on Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.
She was the daughter of the late Hershell and Lucille Futrell Flanrey. Joan was a homemaker of the Baptist faith and a graduate of Dixie High School. She was a proud member of the Daylily Society, and in her free time she enjoyed shopping, reading and collecting tea cups.
She was also preceded in death by her husband James F. Maddox; son David Maddox; grandson Colt Maddox; brothers, Floyd Flanrey and Larry Flanrey; and sister Mary Blumberg.
Survivors include sons Paul Maddox (Cathy), of St. Louis, Mo. and Michael Maddox (Lisa), of Worth, Ill.; grandchildren Sarah O’Neill (Sean), Beth Maddox and Andrew Maddox; great-grandchild Jace O’Neill; and sisters Wanda Howerton, Bonnie Fesler, Judy Speaks (Doyle) and Georgia Jackson.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. today at Heath Funeral Home.
Funeral service will begin at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
