CORNING — Ralph M. “Hoss” Crafton Jr., 73, of Corning passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.
Mr. Crafton was born Oct. 15, 1947, in Corning. He graduated from Corning High School and attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked most of his life in the farming industry and he crafted beautiful handmade furniture.
He loved reading, coaching his children’s ball teams, attending their events, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Corning.
On July 10, 1971, he married Rita Brown. They celebrated 49 years of marriage this past July.
Other survivors include his children, Kristin (Joshua) Hammett of Fayetteville and Cameron (Amanda) Crafton of Elm Springs; sisters, Betty (Jackie) Thomas of Corning and Shirley (Steve) Wilder of Success; grandchildren, Isabella, Ava and Braxton; and mother-in-law, Millie Brown of Datto.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph “Snooks” and Glenda Reeves Crafton, nephew, Bryan Wilder, and father-in-law, Quinn Brown.
Services were Sunday at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning with the Rev. Josh Raspberry officiating. Burial was in Corning Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
