MONETTE — Virginia Louise Pitts Stewart, 95, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. She was born Jan. 21, 1925, in Monette to the late Hosea and Amie Hill Pitts.

Mrs. Virginia was a 1943 graduate of Monette High School. She and G.F. were married June 16, 1943, and enjoyed many years together until he passed in 2005.

Mrs. Stewart was a member of the Monette First Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, G.F. Stewart, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Joseph England, Helen Barnes, Gerald Pitts and Clarence Pitts.

She is survived by a sister, Christine Lawson; her children, Revis Stewart (Nancy), Doris Blankenship (Bob) and Rick Stewart, all of Monette; four grandchildren, Missi Miller (Gordon), Kevin Stewart (Nicole), Kristi Wildy (Justin) and Jason Stewart (Wendy); eight great-grandchildren, Jordon Droke (Skyler), Caleb Miller, Blaire Edrington (Dylan), Connor Miller, Blaine Wildy, Dylan Stewart, Dawson Stewart and Zaylee Stewart; and great-great-grandchildren, Miller Droke and baby Reed due in August.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. today at Monette First Baptist Church. Service will be 11 a.m. today at Monette Memorial Cemetery Pavilion with Jason Stewart officiating and music by Jordon Droke and Kevin Stewart. Interment will follow under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Caleb Miller, Connor Miller, Blaine Wildy, Dylan Stewart, Dawson Stewart, Skyler Droke and Dylan Edrington.
