Many Americans support Trump because of appointments to the Supreme Court. They don’t like his name-calling, constant lies, integrity, character, reposting of a video with an old white man in a golf cart shouting “white power” to a group of peaceful protestors, tweeting and other aspects of his daily activities, but they support him because of the Supreme Court.

Many Americans believe in their heart of hearts that if only the Supreme Court had a majority of Republican appointed conservatives, America would look much different — more conservative.

Many Americans believe if conservatives just held the majority, abortion would be banned everywhere in the United States. They believe abortion would be available only to rich people who could travel to places where abortion is available.

Many Americans believe if conservatives just held the majority, Christian prayer would be a part of the opening of every school throughout the United States. They believe other religious prayers would not be allowed, only Christian prayer.

Many Americans believe if conservatives just held the majority, Christianity would be the national religion. Other religion would be tolerated but deemed secondary to Christianity.

Many Americans believe if conservatives just held the majority, same sex marriage would be against the law. And by the same token, they believe employers could fire any employee because of their sexual orientation.

In short, many Americans believe if we just had a majority of Republican appointed conservatives on the Supreme Court, the landscape of America would be much different, much more in line with conservative thinking.

Truth is, 48 of the last 49 years, Republican appointed Conservatives have held the majority on the Supreme Court. The other year the court was 4-4 because McConnell refused for over a year to allow President Barack Obama to appoint a justice.

If you look at life in America today, it is shaped by the Supreme Court. A court where the majority is conservative. And has been for about 50 years.

So if you support Trump simply because he will make the majority on the Supreme Court conservatives, you are chasing something that already exists.
