My reaction to the announcement that Barnes & Noble would not reopen their store in Turtle Creek Mall following the destruction of last spring's tornado didn't shock me.

I am dismayed that a college town has lost another bookstore.

A search reveals local textbook stores but these aren't the same. Years ago, the prevailing advice for parents wanting their children to be proficient readers was for the child to catch the parent reading.

It's significant that children today are proficient with smart phones and similar electronics. It's also significant that considering the steady decline of print media, I'm probably preaching to the choir.
