JONESBORO — Arkansas State added a home football game to its 2020 schedule Tuesday and announced that another has been rescheduled.

ASU will host Southland Conference member Incarnate Word on Dec. 12. The Red Wolves’ home game against Louisiana-Monroe, originally scheduled for last weekend, has been moved to Dec. 5 to accommodate Sun Belt Conference schedule changes.

The addition of UIW gives ASU a pair of December games at Centennial Bank Stadium and three consecutive home contests to conclude regular-season competition. The Red Wolves are currently scheduled to host South Alabama on Nov. 28, ULM on Dec. 5 and UIW on Dec. 12.

The UIW contest replaces ASU’s game against Tulsa, which was postponed earlier this year and unable to be rescheduled during the 2020 season. The Red Wolves’ game against the Warhawks was previously rescheduled for Dec. 12, but moved up a week as the Sun Belt announced new dates for four games Tuesday.

The ASU-ULM and Troy-South Alabama games are scheduled for Dec. 5. Coastal Carolina and Troy will play Dec. 12, followed by ULM and Troy on Dec. 17.

“We appreciate the cooperation of all of our schools during this unique and challenging season,” Sun Belt commissioner Keith Gill said in the conference announcement. “The previous 11 weeks of football have required us to be flexible, a lesson I suspect that will carry us through the final four weeks of the season as well.”

Arkansas State will play San Antonio-based UIW for the first time in school history. The outing is currently the Cardinals’ only game this fall, but they have a six-game spring schedule slated to begin Feb. 20 against Sam Houston State. UIW finished 5-7 last season and tied for sixth in the Southland.

The Red Wolves return to action Saturday when they will travel to San Marcos to play Texas State in their final road game of the regular season.
