JONESBORO — Valley View built a 15-point lead in three quarters Monday night and held off Westside for a 54-48 victory at Warrior Gym.
Wil French scored 17 of his 24 points in the first half to help the Blazers take a 25-11 halftime lead. French connected for four 3-pointers in the first half and added two more in the third quarter, which ended with Valley View (8-6, 2-3 4A-3 conference) leading 46-31.
CJ Delancy added 10 points for Valley View, which led 11-0 after the first quarter. Andrew Laird scored 19 points to lead Westside (4-8, 0-5) and Adonis Thomas added 14 points.
Valley View (11-4, 3-2 conference) won the junior boys’ game 48-38 as Carson Turley scored 18 points.
Weston Honeycutt scored 11 points, Gage Willbanks 11 and Eli Whitmire 10 for Westside (7-3, 2-3 conference).
Walnut Ridge 65, Hoxie 47
HOXIE — Ty Flippo scored 24 points Monday night to lead Walnut Ridge to a 65-47 victory over neighboring Walnut Ridge in 3A-3 conference senior boys’ basketball.
Jayden Hollister and Parker Carmack added 12 points each for the Bobcats (9-4, 4-3 conference).
Mason Woodard scored 22 points and Cade Forrester added 14 for Hoxie.
Walnut Ridge won the junior boys’ game, led by Sebastian Hoffman with 17 points, and also won the seventh-grade game 27-18.
Hoxie 67, Corning 47
CORNING — Hoxie opened a double-digit lead in the first quarter Monday night and went on to defeat Corning 67-47 in 3A-3 senior girls’ basketball.
The Lady Mustangs (11-1, 5-0 conference) led 23-10 after the first quarter. Hoxie increased its lead to 41-21 at the end of the third quarter and 54-29 after the third quarter.
Jaedyn Brown scored 21 points to lead Hoxie, followed by Jaecie Brown with 17 and Chloe Prater with 12. Makenna Lunsford led Corning with 12 points.
Corning won the junior girls’ game 36-26, led by Addison George with 14 points and Kenlie Watson with 12. Bailey Prater led Hoxie with 18 points.
Riverside 46, Earle 31
LAKE CITY — Anna Meurer scored 14 points to lead Riverside to a 46-31 victory over Earle in 2A-3 conference senior girls’ basketball Monday.
Kalli Blocker added 10 points for the Lady Rebels (9-8, 4-2 conference).
Colby Maples scored 16 points for Earle (5-4, 3-3).
Riverside (5-4, 4-1 conference) won the junior girls’ game 31-23.
GCT 36, MacArthur 35
JONESBORO — Parker Brown scored 13 points Monday night, including the game-winning free throw near the end of overtime to lift Greene County Tech to a 36-35 victory over MacArthur in junior boys’ basketball at Don Riggs Hurricane Gym.
MacArthur led 19-13 at halftime and the teams were tied at 30 to end regulation. Jack Williams added nine points for GCT.
Kelen Smith scored 14 points and Kenyan Carter added 10 for MacArthur (8-4, 1-2 conference).
Mtn. Home 32, Annie Camp 31
MOUNTAIN HOME — Mountain Home edged Annie Camp 32-31 in junior boys’ basketball Monday.
Annie Camp is 7-3 overall and 7-1 in conference play.
Annie Camp won the eighth-grade game 39-34.
