SEARCY — Jonesboro scored twice in the second half Friday night to defeat Searcy 2-0 and extend its winning streak to six games in boys’ soccer.

Jonesboro goalkeeper Ryan Rouse preserved a scoreless tie going into halftime when he saved a penalty kick with five seconds remaining and then a rebound off the penalty kick.

Jose Rodriguez scored off a corner from Eder Leal for the Hurricane’s first goal. Jorge Vargas scored off Nate Light’s long ball pass to give Jonesboro (11-2, 7-1 5A-East) an insurance goal.

Rouse finished with six saves.

Jonesboro (8-3, 6-2 conference) suffered a 4-0 loss in the girls’ game.

Valley View 2, Wynne 0

WYNNE — Valley View kept its 4A-North record perfect Thursday with a 2-0 victory over Wynne in boys’ soccer.

Josh Nwokeji and Brandon Southard scored goals for the Blazers (11-4-1, 3-0 conference). Matthew Layton finished with one assist and David Vanderbilt was in goal for the shutout as Valley View improved to 9-0-1 in its last 10 games.

Nettleton 2, Marion 0

MARION — Justin Livingston finished with three saves in goal Friday to help Nettleton defeat Marion 3-0 in 5A-East boys’ soccer.

Antonio Almaraz scored a goal off Adrian Saldivar’s assist for the Raiders (6-4-2, 4-3-1 conference). Saldivar also scored on an assist from Kendrick McShan.

Westside 1, Brookland 0

BROOKLAND — A second-half goal lifted Westside to a 1-0 victory over Brookland in 4A-North boys’ soccer Thursday.

Tanner Darr scored off Cooper Gauntt’s assist to give the Warriors the winning goal. Hayden Alls finished with 12 saves in goal.

Brookland 6, Westside 0

BROOKLAND – Abbi Brookreson scored three goals and assisted on two more Thursday to lead Brookland to a 6-0 victory over Westside in 4A-North girls’ soccer.

Emma Bassett added two goals and Liv Campbell scored once for the Lady Bearcats (8-2-1, 3-0 conference), with Campbell also adding two assists.

Lisa Craig had three saves for Brookland.

Valley View 11, Wynne 0

WYNNE — Valley View ran its winning streak to 11 games Thursday with an 11-0 rout of Wynne in 4A-North girls’ soccer.

Micah McMillan finished with three goals and an assist for the Lady Blazers (12-2, 3-0 conference). Hayden Reynolds added two goals and three assists, while Emma Higgins scored twice and assisted on one goal.

Morghan Weaver, Emily Minton, Sierra Wester and Josie Hargis scored one goal each. Ellie Higgins had one assist, while Ally Holland and Molly Findley were in goal for the shutout.

MARION — Nettleton battled Marion to a scoreless draw Friday night in 5A-East girls’ soccer.

Sarah Ernes had eight saves to support a strong defensive effort from Tia Brown, Shyne Kelly, Zoe Anderson and Zoe Wagoner for the Lady Raiders (3-6-2, 2-5-1 conference).
