JONESBORO — Nettleton held off West Memphis for a 25-22, 25-16, 24-26, 19-25, 17-15 victory in 5A-East volleyball Thursday night.

Amara Jones finished with 16 kills and 13 digs for the Lady Raiders (1-1). Sadie Pool and Berkeley Landrum added 13 and 11 kills, respectively.

Also for Nettleton, Chloe Reed finished with 27 assists and 10 digs; Madison Puryear served five aces and came up with 15 digs; and Lilli Grace Crocker had a team-high 23 digs. Paula Guevara (13), Amara Jones (13) and Ava Gatlin (11) also had double-digit digs for Nettleton.

Nettleton won the junior high match 25-23, 25-14 and the seventh-grade match 25-22, 25-5.

Jonesboro 3, Batesville 0

BATESVILLE — Saraya Hewitt finished with 10 kills and served two aces Thursday as Jonesboro defeated Batesville 25-15, 25-18, 25-23 in 5A-East volleyball.

Maddie Johnson added eight kills and two blocks for the Lady Hurricane (5-0, 3-0 conference). Rosalind Lutes finished with seven kills and nine digs.

Taylor Abernathy had six kills and was 14-of-15 serving; Teagan Cox finished with six kills; Maggie Orr was 13-of-14 serving with 13 digs; Anna Parker added six digs; and Abby Johnson contributed 28 assists.

Valley View 3, Wynne 0

JONESBORO — Reese Owens produced 12 kills and also served four aces Thursday, leading Valley View to a 25-11, 25-16, 25-10 victory over Wynne in 4A-Northeast volleyball.

Michayla Mears was 12-of-12 serving with six kills, six assists and eight digs for the Lady Blazers (5-0 overall, 5-0 conference). Ashley Lamkin added four kills and three blocks.

Also for Valley View, Natalie Supine finished with four kills and two blocks; Tolly Fagan served four aces and had six digs; Alex Brown served three aces; Avery Hall was 10-of-10 with three aces and eight assists; and Olivia Miles was 10-of-10 with nine digs.

Valley View earned a 25-19, 25-27, 15-12 victory in the junior high match behind Jillian Frye’s seven kills.

Riley Owens was 10-of-10 serving with five kills, nine assists and eight digs; Anna Lamkin added five kills; Maddie Ramsey finished with 13 digs; Jax Carr had 11 digs and served three aces; EmiGrace Powell was 15-of-15 serving with 10 assists; and Hayden Gartman finished with 10 digs.

Valley View won the junior B game 25-22 and the seventh-grade match 25-15, 25-19.

Westside 3, Trumann 0

JONESBORO — Westside cruised past Trumann 25-15, 25-15, 25-14 in 4A-Northeast volleyball Thursday.

Emma Scott, Colleen Jackson and Hannah Pickering finished with five kills each for Westside, with Jackson also adding 12 assists. Abby Manley added four kills for the Lady Warriors.

Ali Kercheval finished with three blocks; Baile Rogers served three aces and added 11 digs; Laynee Montgomery finished with 10 assists; and Sydney Pickering added nine digs.

Jayda Halfacre had four kills and 10 digs for Trumann, while Zoey Craig finished with four blocks and Anna Lebo added 16 digs.

Westside won the junior high match 25-21, 25-20.

Hoxie 3, Newport 0

NEWPORT — Hoxie made quick work of Newport in 3A-Northeast volleyball Thursday, winning 25-5, 25-2, 25-6.

Jaedyn Brown finished with nine kills, six blocks and 12 digs for Hoxie. Ellery Gillham contributed nine kills, five blocks and 21-of-22 serving with four aces.

Kailey Moody was 26-of-27 serving with 23 assists; Chloe Prater was 13-of-13 serving with six digs and three aces; and Cara Forrester added seven kills along with five assists.

Walnut Ridge 3, Harrisburg 2

HARRISBURG — Walnut Ridge bounced back in the fifth set Thursday to defeat Harrisburg 25-20, 25-21, 22-25, 22-25, 15-7 in 3A-Northeast volleyball.

Gracie Collins finished with seven kills and 12 digs for the Lady Bobcats. Chloe Davis added six kills and 18 digs, while Chloe Bounds also had six kills.

Emma Richey had 20 digs and 17 assists, while Marguerite Gill added five kills and 12 digs. Holly Berry (17) and Alexis Dalton (10) also had double-digit digs.

Harrisburg won the senior B game 25-17.

Walnut Ridge won the junior high contest 25-21, 25-16 as Bailey Rorex served three aces, Taylor Forrester contributed seven digs and Emma Aaron finished with six assists.

Walnut Ridge won the junior B game 25-12 and the teams split the seventh-grade contest.

Ridgefield 3, Cave City 2

CAVE CITY — Jenna Primm finished with 16 kills, eight digs and four aces on 13-of-13 serving Thursday, leading Ridgefield Christian to a 25-23, 25-16, 18-25, 18-25, 15-8 victory over Cave City in high school volleyball.

Sarah Kate Carwell was 12-of-12 serving with seven kills for the Lady Warriors. Gracie Qualls added four kills, four aces and two blocks; Jenna Berry added four assists; Bella Hoggard finished with 23 assists and three aces; and Sara Beth Stracener was 16-of-17 serving with six digs.

Batesville 2, Annie Camp 1

JONESBORO — Batesville slipped past Annie Camp 25-19, 16-25, 15-12 in junior high volleyball Thursday.

Anna Leslie finished with eight kills and four blocks for Annie Camp. Jimaria Jackson added six kills and four blocks.

Meadow Jones and Olivia Daniels added five kills each for the Lady Whirlwinds; Julia Young was 18-of-19 serving with 26 assists; Kendall Elder added 12 digs; and Easton McDaniel and Ella McPike added seven digs each.

Annie Camp won the JV match 25-15, 25-12 and the seventh-grade match 25-16, 25-6.
