A two-vehicle accident Monday morning on Highway 63 near Sedgwick resulted in the death of a Pocahontas woman, according to the preliminary fatal crash summary released by the Arkansas State Police.

Shelby Plumley, 20, of Pocahontas was killed when the 2019 Chevrolet SUV she was driving southbound on Highway 63, was hit head-on by a 2008 Chevrolet pickup.

According to Cpl. Benjamin Rapert with the Arkansas State police, the northbound pickup, driven by Marty Champlin, 51, of Walnut Ridge, crossed the centerline and struck the vehicle Plumley was driving.

Champlin was transported to St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.
