Lawrence County saw more than 3,500 of its approximately 8,500 registered voters cast ballots during early voting, according to County Clerk Tina Stowers.

More than 3,300 cast ballots at the Lawrence County Courthouse in Walnut Ridge, with additional voters taking advantage of off-site early voting on specific Saturdays at Imboden, Lynn and Sedgwick.

In addition, another 200 absentee ballots have been received by the county.

Stowers said it was an exceptional turnout for early voting, with more than 40 percent of registered voters casting ballots before Election Day began.
