Lawrence County Extension Staff Chair Bryce Baldridge stands near the entrance to the new office space for the Extension Office. Still located in the USDA building, the Extension Service is now located under the covered entrance in the corner of the building.

The Lawrence County Extension Office has moved, and while it was a short move, Staff Chair Bryce Baldridge said they are working to get the word out about the change.

Previously located to the far right when facing the front of the building, the entrance to the office is now located under the covered entryway located in the corner of the building.

Baldridge said the Extensions staff gained approximately 200 square feet with the move.

“We painted and cleaned the floors,” he said, also noting that they have been moving everything from the old office to the new office and reconfiguring it to make the best use of the space.

Baldridge said while the doors to the office remain locked due to COVID-19, a gray tub is available outside the entrance for residents to drop off soil samples and many are taking advantage of that service. He said the necessary form to accompany the sample is in the tub.

“We look forward to being able to be open to the public again,” Baldridge said. “In the meantime if someone needs assistance they can call us at 870-886-3741.”
