Blake Shaw, 47, of Ravenden, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge.

He was born Oct. 2, 1972, to Herman and Anna Lou Abernathy Shaw in Walnut Ridge. He married Dee Dee Smith on March 12, 1994, in Walnut Ridge. He was employed at Farm Service and was the pastor of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Black Rock.

He is preceded in death by his father, Herman Shaw; father-in-law, Donnie Smith; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

He is survived by his wife, Dee Dee Shaw of the home; mother, Anna Lou Shaw of Walnut Ridge; sisters, Janet Smith (Glenn) of Walnut Ridge, Teresa Jones (Jerry) of Little Rock, and Beth Malone (Tim) of Jonesboro; nieces, Emily Sledge, Bekah Barnes and Emily Davis; nephews, Adam Jones, Matthew Shaw, Colton Davis and Caden Davis; eight great-nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Warren and Debbie Gatrel of Black Rock.

Visitation is today, Wednesday, July 22, from 6-8 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Black Rock.

Funeral will be Thursday, July 23, at 10 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Black Rock with Tanner Duncan, Tadd Fore and Glenn Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Forest Cemetery in Black Rock under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Pat Roby, Steve Fore, Ted Dail, Bray Brooks, Matthew Shaw and Colton Davis. Honorary pallbearers are Caden Davis, Jerry Jones, Adam Jones, Tim Malone, Ricky Davis and the Iron Men of MVBC.
